CIMC Future Manufacturing Digitalized Production-Research Entity Settles in Yangzhou
CIMC Vehicles is injecting strong impetus into the economic development of Yangzhou with a new round of digitalized innovation projects represented by "Super Magellan". Meanwhile, it has also set a benchmark for the domestic special vehicle industry to ensure the future competitiveness of "Made in China".
New times call for new action. On December 1, 2017, a team of 10 led by Xie Zhengyi, Secretary of Jiangsu Yangzhou Municipal Party Committee, visited the Yangzhou CIMC Tonghua Special Vehicles Co., Ltd. to get to know the construction progress of digitalized production-research entity on the spot. Xu Huiliang, Deputy General Manager of CIMC Tonghua, emphatically introduced the implementation of "Super Magellan". Xie Zhengyi praised CIMC Vehicles for its keen perception of the trend and challenge of intelligent manufacturing and its efforts to build a digitalized factory that represents the future development direction of manufacturing industry, which has become an important driving force for the transformation from "Made in Yangzhou" to "Created in Yangzhou" and the construction of a leading industrial innovation center in Yangzhou.
After 15 years of innovation and development, CIMC is no longer satisfied with playing a "leading role" in China; it is dedicated to the pursuit of "excellence". The courage and confidence of this forerunner come from openness and innovation.
CIMC Tonghua digitalized production-research entity project is in line with the standards of "Industry 4.0" and "Made in China 2025" and strives to build a demonstration benchmark of intelligent manufacturing in the special vehicle industry. In accordance with the requirements of "mathematical modeling design, automatic production and digitalized management", and referring to the production mode of commercial vehicles and the characteristics of special vehicles, it strives to build a globally outstanding modularized flexible production line. "Production efficiency can be improved by 40 per cent and order delivery time can be reduced by more than 40 per cent."
In the digital era, the organization and management of digitalized factories need to be changed, and the importance of human resources is becoming prominent. "For me, CIMC Vehicles has given a technician an opportunity to realize his dream." Dr. Li Xiaofu, Deputy Director of the Super Magellan program, said with great pride, "our technicians should dare to imagine and be skillful in practice, so that we can achieve new value. 80% of the achievements of the technical staff rely on 20% of the imagination; the technicians of CIMC Vehicles have the confidence to make 'Made by CIMC' bring more surprises to the world."
How can we help employees grow and unleash their creativity? “We are creating a new organizational structure that renames blue-collar workers as operators and maintenance workers as maintenance engineers; and the reason we do that is because even a word’s difference is a new positioning." In Li Xiaofu’s opinion, a professional-oriented personnel management system is more conducive to the improvement of efficiency of manufacturing execution system. He also revealed that the equipment will be installed and debugged in succession at the end of 2017, and it is expected to be completed and put into production in March, 2018.
After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Yangzhou has focused on cultivating new growth points in intelligent manufacturing, modern logistics and other new economic fields, which excited the staff of CIMC Tonghua and brought new policy support here. This is the Yangzhou Development Zone and the location of CIMC Tonghua new project; it is also the main force and battlefield of the economic transformation and upgrading and spanning development of the city. “Germany used to be synonymous with good manufacturing, and Yangzhou will soon be no different.” Chen Xi, Director of the Administrative Committee of Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, said that the zone is speeding up the construction of new projects, improving the tracking service mechanism and pushing major industrial projects to start production and achieve early results. According to Xu Huiliang, the Yangzhou government and the Development Zone highly agree that CIMC Tonghua takes advantage of the relocation opportunity to implement the transformation and upgrading. We will certainly live up to the expectations, accelerate the project construction progress, and contribute to the economic development of Yangzhou and the development of China's special vehicle industry.
